"Balenka" shocks again with a project. She used... cut-up boxers
Why create a new product when you can take scissors and… remake another? That’s basically how you can explain Balenciaga’s latest curiosity, namely… briefs that have become a skirt. Because why not!?
What, besides a company laptop and a Multisport card, does every new Balenciaga employee get on their first day? I have a feeling it's scissors.
Remember the $1,490 torn tights ? Or the Balenciaga Reptile Sneaker sneakers that looked like they were sewn together from ripped pieces of other shoes? Fashion cutouts are one of the hallmarks of the Spanish fashion house.
Balenciaga proves once again that there are no such things as rules in the world of luxury fashion and once again goes "snip snip", this time... by reaching for lingerie. Well... almost literally.

The Cut Off Brief Skirt appeared at the Fall/Winter 2025 show and from the very beginning it aroused both consternation and curiosity. The spirit of Demna has not completely left Balenciaga yet!

What else will Balenciaga come up with?The designers tried their best to make the skirt look like it was made of panties and deliberately kept the edges raw . The washed-out color is also meant to enhance this illusion.
Boxers transformed into outerwear? Normally we would call it “upcycling.” But considering the intention, humor, and nonchalance of this project, only one word fits: “Balenciaga.”
It reminds me of the scene from the cartoon "Lilo and Stitch" where the space alien puts a bra on his head, making him look like Batman . Well... Knowing Balenciaga , the last word has not been said yet!
